Can the Cockroach Janta Party do what Anna Hazare did?

15 years ago, Jantar Mantar saw the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement led by Anna Hazare. Today, Abhijit Dipke and his 'cockroaches' stand at the same place.
The victory of the 'Anna Andolan' was the Lokpal Bill — an autonomous ombudsman with the power to investigate politicians and bureaucrats.
We are yet to see what the CJP protests lead to, but what are some similarities and differences?
What makes the CJP different?
- •IAC was a movement against institutional corruption. CJP's protest stands against institutional failure that have affected lives of lakhs of students.
- •IAC was built on grassroots mobilization, CJP leveraged social media, highlighting a generational shift. The Jantar Mantar protest is their first step towards physical mobilization.
- •IAC saw people of all ages turn up, while CJP appears to be driven by the youth though it has received support from activists Sonam Wangchuk, Prakash Raj and others.
